(in lingua inglese) Multi Energy Systems (MESs) are effective solutions to increase Renewable Energy Sources (RES) penetration and therefore to move toward a low-carbon decentralized energy system.
In a MES framework, several energy vectors, such as electricity, heat and hydrogen can be integrated together to exploit possible synergies.
In this context, hydrogen seems to be one of the most promising energy carriers to promote the widespread use of MES for several applications. Nevertheless, to fully deploy the potential of a MES, advanced management strategies and well-defined sizing methodologies are mandatory for all the subsystems and for their integration.
